SillyBulls by VocabularySpellingCity

Children have to click on the box with the correct number of syllables for each word in this simple game.

There’s some fun animation and sound effects to make it more interesting and all of the words are spoken, so your child doesn’t need to be able to read to play it.

When you click on the game you can select a list of words to use.  The ‘short a words’ list isn’t a great choice because they all seem to be one-syllable words which gets too repetitive.

Drum Machine by Literactive

Students beat the drum to count the syllables in words for this game.  The words are spoken so they don’t need to be able to read.

To access this game, you will need to register with the Literactive site (it’s free).  Once you’ve done that, click on the activities tab at the top then on the Level 4 link in the left hand margin.  You should be able to locate the Drum Machine game and several other activities.
